Between 2007-2013 Wales benefited from £1.8bn of EU Funds to support growth and jobs.

In 2014–2020 Wales will benefit from over £2bn of European Structural Funds investment.

The funds help support people into work and training, youth employment, research and innovation, business (SMEs) competitiveness, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and connectivity and urban development. 

As of October 2018, we have a new priority ‘Public Service Improvement through Regional Working’. Details of how to apply can be found below.

Structural Funds Programmes

In agreement with the European Commission, investments are prioritised according to social, economic and environmental needs and opportunities in the following regions:

European structural funds are made up of:

  • European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 
  • European Social Fund (ESF) 

European Structural Funds in Wales are administered by the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO).
