  • Release date: 10 March 2016
The Supporting People programme provides housing-related support to help vulnerable people to live as independently as possible.

The final report explored the feasibility of using data linkage to evaluate the Supporting People Programme.

The overall aim of this project was to explore the contribution data linking could make to the evaluation of the Supporting People Programme through assessing the ways in which health service use varied according to the characteristics of Supporting People service users.

Supporting People data linking project

The feasibility study demonstrated that it was feasible to deliver a more robust and large scale quantitative study of the impact of the Supporting People Programme in Wales using linked data. As a result, the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children agreed to fund a four-year data linking project to explore the impact of the Supporting People Programme on the public service use of those who access support.
