Working with partners

Preparing successfully for climate change will depend on government, organisations, businesses and communities across Wales accepting responsibility and taking action now.

We will work in partnership with a range of local, national and international organisations.

We are working with partners to ensure that Wales is prepared for more frequent and more severe extreme weather events and the devastating effects they can have. Our partners include:

  • local authorities
  • emergency services
  • the voluntary sector, and
  • community groups.

The Adaptation Sub Group of the Climate Change Commission for Wales offers support and expertise in the development of our work.

We cannot prepare for climate change in isolation here in Wales and are actively engaged with the UK government, Scottish Government and the Northern Ireland Executive to share knowledge and best practice, and to address cross-border issues.

We are supporting the Mbale region of Uganda to advance its work in preparing for climate change. This is delivered through our Wales for Africa Programme and is supported by the UN Development Programme.
