Behaviour study on the use and re-use of carrier bags 2012

A review of shopper perceptions and usage of single use carrier bags, bags for life and other containers in Wales and Scotland.

We and Zero Waste Scotland commissioned Exodus Research to conduct a telephone research survey amongst Welsh and Scottish households and provide observations of shopping behaviours.


Overall the research suggests that the charge has had a strong and positive effect on Welsh consumer shopping behaviours. They are taking less single use carrier bags and the use of reusable bags is becoming the norm, particularly for food shopping.  

This is the final report from that research.
