Housing association and local authority tenants in some parts of Wales have until January 26 to use the Right to Buy and associated Schemes after which they will be abolished in Wales.
Landmark legislation to protect the stock and incentivise the building of new social housing has been given Royal Assent by Her Majesty the Queen.
The Act will end the Right to Buy, Preserved Right to Buy and Right to Acquire for tenants of local authorities and registered social landlords.

The Right to Buy and associated rights has ended

The Right to Buy and associated rights ended in Wales on the 26 January 2019, following the passing of the ‘Abolition of the Right to Buy and Associated Rights (Wales) Act 2018.

Alternative Welsh Government schemes are available.
